Many of the Netezza-Aginity Workbench users have asked that they be able to see any query that they have ever executed. Some tools ask you to save queries as .SQL or .TXT. What is more convenient is for the tool to simply save query history (or stored procedure history) as a log executed on Netezza that the user can browse, search & expand/collapse like a website viewing history. This needs to be stored on the user's local machine, since queries can be executed against many different Netezza servers in different locations.

Ted, There is an ability to see query for the user - which is stored locally on the machine. If you go to View->User Query History. At the moment, this is not every query the user has ever exectuted - but only those for the Agintiy Netezza Workbench session. We'll look into expanding this to all history (with user configuration on how much). Thanks

Ted,

The user query history is stored on the user's computer on a per-user basis. E.g. each Windows user has their own query history.
The query history persists when the application is closed.
The option that controls the number of queries to be kept in history is Tools / Options / Query Analyzer / Keep NNN user queries in history

Use Alt+H to show the history in the Query Analyzer window.
Start typing to search the history while the history window is open.
Hit Enter to insert selected query to the active query window.
The history window provides means of filtering historic queries by the database name, Netezza host name or Netezza user name.

Please let me know if that is not what you requested.
Thanks,
Oleg

Where is the history stored? As Dan indicated, it appears we can only retrieve same session history by pressing Alt-h.

The history did not work as expected on 64 bit platforms.
This has been fixed in version 2.0 which is a Beta at the moment.
Thanks,
Oleg
